How to get a Medical Marijuana Card in Nevada
Getting a Medical Marijuana Card in Nevada is a process that involves speaking with a doctor and filling out some state mandated paperwork. To become a Nevada medical marijuana patient, you can first talk with one of our doctors to see if you qualify and we will help you through the application process.
To become a Nevada medical marijuana patient, you must first be diagnosed with a debilitating or chronic condition and be a Nevada resident. To qualify as a patient you must have one of the following conditions:
- Persistent muscle spasms (including multiple sclerosis)
- Seizures (including epilepsy)
- Severe nausea
- Severe pain
- Additional condition specifically approved by the Department of Health and Human Services
After you are approved by one of our doctors:
Register with the State of Nevada
Once the doctor approves you for medical cannabis, you will need to generate an application packet. You can do that via the following steps:
- Register for an account here: https://mmportal.nv.gov/ (click “Register as a Cardholder”)
- Find a scanner and scan the back-side of your Nevada driver’s license / ID card. Scan as a JPG, PNG or TIF file at 300 DPI or greater.
- For the “Consultant Email”, you can list email@example.com
**Your login credentials are your driver’s license number and selected password. You must “Register as Cardholder” prior to logging in.
After you are registered, you will need to login, generate, and download the application packet. It will be a PDF file. Email that PDF file to firstname.lastname@example.org once you have it ready.
Your doctor will sign and email back a copy of the Attending Healthcare Provider Statement. Once you have the completed PDF document, you can scan and upload all completed application documents to your computer and upload them to the Nevada State Portal.
Nevada State Application Fees
Please note that the state will charge an additional fee of $50 for your medical card to be valid for 1 year, or, $100 for your medical card to be valid for 2 years. Once all documents are uploaded and fees are paid click “Submit”.
